Exhibiting the work
The artist grants InsideOut and the gallery permission to display the work Nov. 18 - Nov. 24, 2018, in an exhibition of selected finalists at such venue (the gallery) as the committee in their absolute discretion will determine.
It is the artist’s responsibility to ensure that the original work is available for this purpose, whether or not they are the owner of the work. If the artist is not the owner of the work, the artist must provide the signed permission of the owner to display the work.
Selected competitors agree to make themselves available for the purposes of competition and exhibition-related events, promotion and publicity at times, dates and places reasonably requested by InsideOut.
Original and non-infringing work
The competitor warrants that the work is original and does not infringe the copyright, moral rights or any other rights of any third party.
Licensing the work
The finalists grant to InsideOut, at no cost, a non-exclusive licence to reproduce the work in material form, to photograph, publish and/or communicate it to the public for the following prize-related purposes, and anything incidental to such purposes, by InsideOut, the gallery, and sponsors:
marketing, publicity, educational and publication uses for InsideOut or the gallery, the prize and its exhibition in all media, including but not limited to electronic/digital, broadcasting and print media, in perpetuity; and
in a print exhibition catalogue for the exhibition.
Permission to so reproduce the work must be conveyed by the artist to any purchaser of the work.
Where reasonable, InsideOut and the gallery will attribute the artist as the author of the work and reproduce the work in full. Details of the work may be used at InsideOut and the gallery’s discretion.
Collecting the work
Artists are responsible for organising the collection of their work during the times specified.
Neither InsideOut nor the gallery will pay for any costs incurred in the collection of any entry or be liable for any damage to art work not collected on the specified date.
If any artist does not retrieve a work, InsideOut or the gallery will give 14 days’ notice of their intention to sell or otherwise dispose of the work, via email to the email address provided or via WhatsApp to the artist’s nominated phone. The work may then be sold and, after deducting from the proceeds the costs of and incidental to the sale, any balance will be held for the competitor. If, however, it is the opinion of InsideOut or the gallery that the work is unsaleable then the work may be destroyed or otherwise disposed of in any manner deemed fit and InsideOut shall be under no liability whatsoever to the artist in respect of the work so destroyed or disposed of.
